  • Application form for visa issuance and temporary residence extension, form NA5 for foreigners residing in Vietnam, issued together with Circular No. 22/2023/TT-BCA dated June 30, 2023 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
  • Entry approval declaration form NA2 for foreigners currently abroad (Not yet entered Vietnam).
  • 01 recent photo, size 4 x 6 cm, straight face, no hat, no glasses, polite clothes, white background if subject to a separate visa.
  • Passport or documents valid for international travel of foreigners.
  • Original passport is still valid according to regulations. (For foreigners in Vietnam).
  • Certified copy of work permit (for LD2 visa) or Work permit exemption certificate for cases exempted from work permit (for LD1 visa).
  • Temporary residence book or Certificate of temporary residence of foreigners (In some cases the Immigration Department will request).
  • In case of online application, the passport or international travel document of the foreigner must be sent via public postal service to the receiving agency; Other dossier components must be electronically authenticated according to regulations. In case of not being electronically authenticated, the dossier must be sent to the receiving agency through the public postal service.

Steps to apply for a visa

Visa application procedures for workers in Vietnam include the following steps:

Step 1: Prepare complete documents according to regulations.

Step 2: Submit documents to the competent authority using the following 3 methods:

  • Submit directly;
  • Submit online;
  • Submit by post.

Step 3: The officer receiving the dossier checks the legality and content of the dossier:
