When can the identifier be renewed?

Renew identifier is carried out before the expiration of the Identity Name Certificate. Specifically, according to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 28 of Decree 91/2020/ND-CP, organizations and individuals are responsible for submitting the Identity Name Declaration with updated information for renewal at least 15 days before the expiration date of the Certificate.

Compliance with this deadline is very important. If not renewed promptly, the identification name will be revoked and a new registration procedure must be performed. This can cause disruption to the business operations of individuals and organizations.

Instructions for renewing identification names

The process for renewing identification names is specified in Article 28 of Decree 91/2020/ND-CP. Specifically includes the following steps:

Step 1: Prepare documents

Renew identifier dossier includes:

  • Declaration of identification name according to Form No. 01 Appendix to Decree 91/2020/ND-CP with updated information.
  • Copy of Business Registration Certificate (for organizations).
  • Copy of ID card/citizen identification card (for individuals).
  • Other relevant documents (if any).

Step 2: Submit application

Submit your application to renew your identification name in one of the following three forms:

  • Submit directly or via postal service to the Ministry of Information and Communications (Department of Information Security).
  • Submit online at the National Identification Name Management System at tendinhdanh.ais.gov.vn.

Step 3: Receive application and review the validity of the application

Immediately after receiving the application, the Ministry of Information and Communications is responsible for confirming receipt of the application by sending an email or text message to the organization or individual submitting the application for renewal.

Within 01 working day from receipt of the dossier, the Ministry of Information and Communications reviews the validity of the dossier and decides on one of the following cases:

  • Issue identification name renewal certificates via email or text message. After organizations and individuals pay the prescribed fees, the Ministry of Information and Communications is responsible for sending the identification name certificate via email;
  • Do not grant extension of identification name to organizations or individuals in cases where the documents are incomplete or need to be clarified and notify the reason to the organization or individual via email or text message.

In order for the renewal process to go smoothly, customers need to note the following points:

  • Renewal period: Renew at least 15 days before the Certificate expires.
  • Accurate information: Make sure the information in the Declaration of Name and Identification is accurate and complete.
  • Fee: Pay full renewal fee as prescribed.
  • Monitor notifications: Regularly check email or text messages to receive notifications from the Information Security Department.
  • Storing the Certificate: Store the Identification Name Certificate carefully.
