Conditions of production facilities and recycling technology

• Production facilities must have appropriate technology to recycle and process scrap. Technologies used in recycling must ensure environmental protection standards and not cause pollution during scrap processing.
• Recycling equipment: Equipment used in scrap processing must meet national or international standards for quality and labor safety. Equipment needs regular maintenance to ensure efficiency and minimize negative impact on the environment.

Conditions for scrap storage warehouses

Importing scrap storage warehouse:

• Water collection and treatment system: There should be a separate rainwater collection system and wastewater treatment to ensure that it meets technical regulations on wastewater.
• Warehouse floor and floor: The floor level must ensure no flooding, the floor is designed to be sealed, waterproof, and able to withstand the load of scrap.
• Warehouse structure: Walls and partitions must be made from non-flammable materials, have a roof to protect against sun and rain, and measures to limit direct wind entering the storage area.

Storage yard for imported scrap:

• Water collection system: There should be a system to collect and treat rainwater and wastewater generated from the yard, ensuring that it meets environmental technical standards.

Requirements for scrap to be imported to port

Scrap is only allowed to be unloaded at the port when it meets the following requirements:

• Organizations and individuals receiving goods on the Goods Manifest (E-Manifest) must have a valid environmental license or component environmental license and the quantity of imported scrap.
• Organizations and individuals receiving goods on E-Manifest must have a written confirmation that they have deposited money to secure imported scrap for the scrap recorded on E-Manifest according to regulations.

The customs authority is responsible for checking the above information before allowing scrap to be unloaded at the port.
