Pursuant to Clauses 1 and 3, Article 31 of the Decree 65/2023/ND-CP the Trademark Registration Certificate is valid for 10 years from the date of filing. To continue to be protected, the trademark owner needs to renew before the certificate expires.

Specifically, within 06 months before the date the Trademark Registration Certificate expires, the trademark owner must submit a request to extend the validity to the National Office of Intellectual Property.

  • Trademark renewal fee: 100,000 VND/option/group.
  • Late renewal fee (if filed late): 10% maintenance fee/each month of late payment.
  • Fee for appraisal of extension request: 160,000 VND/Protection Certificate.
  • Fee for using Protection Certificate: 700,000 VND/plan/group.
  • Fee for announcing the decision to record extension: 120,000 VND/application.
  • Registration fee for renewal of validity: 120,000 VND/Certificate of Protection.
