  • Direct support service activities for waterway transport (industry code: 5222);
  • Direct support service activities for air transport (industry code: 5223);
  • Loading and unloading of goods (industry code: 5224);
  • Direct support service activities for road transport (industry code: 5225);
  • Other support service activities related to transportation (industry code: 5229).

Conditions for performing transportation support services

Transportation support services are a conditional business line. Therefore, businesses providing transportation support services must meet the following conditions:

  • Enterprises must be granted a transportation business license appropriate to the type of transportation support service that the enterprise wants to do business.
  • Enterprises must have sufficient quantity, quality and shelf life of vehicles suitable for their business form. Transport business vehicles must be equipped with trip monitoring devices.
  • Ensure the number of drivers and service staff on the vehicle is consistent with the business plan and must have a written labor contract. Vehicle service staff must be trained in transportation business and traffic safety.
  • Enterprises are not allowed to use drivers who are banned from practicing as prescribed by law.

Direct support service activities for waterway transport include:

  • Operation of underground waterways;

  • Ship, barge, Lash operations, rescue operations;

Note: This transportation support service activity excludes the following activities:

  • Cargo loading and unloading activities are classified in group 52243 (Seaport cargo loading and unloading) and group 52244 (River port cargo loading and unloading).
  • Activities of marinas are classified in group 93290 (Other entertainment activities not elsewhere classified).

Direct support service activities for air transport include:

  • Operations of departing and arriving passengers at the airport;
  • Flight operations and air traffic control;

Note: This transportation support service activity excludes the following activities:

  • Airport cargo handling is classified in group 52245 (Airport cargo handling).
  • Activities of schools training pilots and aviation personnel are classified in group 85590 (Other education not elsewhere classified).

Loading and unloading goods

Cargo loading and unloading activities include:

  • Loading goods or passengers’ luggage onto the means of transport or unloading goods or passengers’ luggage from the means of transport;
  • Loading and unloading goods;
  • Loading and unloading railway carriages.

Note: This transportation support service activity excludes the following activities: Activities of railway stations, car terminals, airports, seaports, and river ports are classified in groups from 5221 to 5223 with corresponding subheadings and 5225.

  • Liquefy gas for transportation.

Other support service activities related to transportation include:

  • Shipping;
